How Many People Win?
By law, a maximum of 55,000 people can win a DV Green Card per year.
If you do not win DV-2008, you will not be notified; you will receive no response.

How Are Winners Selected?
All DV-2008 winners are selected randomly by computer.
Every applicant has an equal chance to win, based on the total number of people who apply.
The 1st winner randomly selected will be the 1st case registered; the 2nd winner randomly selected will be the 2nd case
registered, etc.
Once all 55,000 DV-2008 visa are issued, the program will end for the year.

How Are Winners Notified?
When a winning entry has been selected, the applicant will receive a letter to your home country address between May-July of the
following year (2007) from the Kentucky Consular Center DV-2008 Program, which will include additional application instructions
including fees and deadlines.

All winners will be informed of their place on the DV-2008 winner’s list and will be assigned an interview appointment. Interviews
are assigned 4-6 weeks prior to the appointment and will begin in early October 2007.
US Embassies and U.S. Consulates will not have the winner’s list names or interview appointment information.
DV-2008 winners will have to respond between October 1, 2007—September 30, 2008. No DV-2008 green cards will be issued
after 09/30/08.

What Might Disqualify A Person?
You can only apply 1 time per year. Additional entries will disqualify you.
You have to prove you have a high school education or 2 years work experience, otherwise you will be disqualified.
You have to list all family members on the DV-2008 application, including spouse or children under 21 years, even if the person no
longer lives with you or will not immigrate to the USA (this includes stepchildren and legally adopted children). If you do not list all
family members, you will be disqualified.

3) “1”colored photo for each person on application (passport size photo: 37 x 37 mm; 3 months old photo; do not staple or tape
photo)
