In recent months, immigration has become very strict, and are reading and scrutinizing every application VERY
closely. Following are tips for a successful presentation to immigration:
1) Explain when you came and what you have been doing.
2) Explain what you would like to do. You must include specifics, ie. dates, invitations, maps, itineraries, receipts
3) Explain your exact return date. What you will do when you get home. Where you will live. Provide proof of
residency (copy of lease, mortgage statement, letter from parents, etc).
4) Explain what effect your extended stay will have on your residency, if any. Also, explain what effects your
extended stay will have on your foreign employment (if any) or schooling plans (if any). If none, please also
explain this too and why. If you will be returning to work, provide a letter from your foreign employer that you
have work waiting for you and how long they will allow you to stay away. If you will be attending school,
provide registration papers from your foreign school.
All of the above criteria are needed for your letter. Without these things, you will be denied.
Another helpful item, is an Affidavit of Support (in addition to your bank statements) completed by a US Citizen.
This can be found on the immigration website. If your sponsor can also write a letter on your behalf, this also
helps.
You will now need a copy of an airline ticket showing your proposed departure date. If you plan on trying to
extend further, we can assist you with an airline ticket for immigration purposes without having to purchase one
and canceling it. Please contact us for details.
